Before I skip town headed to Dixie land, let us post one last note…
Two evenings ago on Sunday, we held a picnic / potluck to welcome our new pastors. It was a blast! We played water balloon volleyball, football, horseshoes, and general hung out, talked, ate, and had fun.
One funny story… I was in charge of providing music for the gathering so ripped 95% of my music collection to my labtop, which I hooked up to the church’s sound system. In the partying spirit I made a play list of Christian pop, rock and contemporary music (Third Day, Geoff Moore, Rebecca St. James, etc) – being careful not to pick anything too hard….
About 15 minutes into things I get the message that my music is not ‘music’ at all, but just ‘noise’. Hmmm…. apparently my ‘light’ stuff was too heavy for this crowd… Knowing that I better move fast if I didn't want to wear my supper, I quickly created a play list of Christian country signers with some instrumental bluegrass thrown in for good measures. That selection went over great!
Moral of the story – know your audience and keep a wide range of music on your labtop!!!!!
